Water Plant Mechanic

Under the supervision of the Lead Water Plant Operator, the Water Plant Operator operates and maintains all equipment within the water plant, schedules maintenance, resolves equipment issues with plumbing and infrastructure personnel, and contributes to a safe working environment through training and hazard mitigation.

• Operate, preventative maintenance, and repair of the seawater desalination and treatment system.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on reverse osmosis units, pumps, valves, piping systems, water monitoring equipment, and auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the water plant and monitor liquid nitrogen production equipment.
• Respond to unscheduled equipment or process failures and ensure efficient, economical operation of water production equipment.
