Vehicle Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness, safety, and compliance of our specialised fleet of collection and shredding vehicles.
• Execute routine servicing, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance, including pre‑inspection preparations for annual DVSA/MOT testing on HGVs and LGVs.
• Service, repair, and optimise onboard heavy‑duty shredding machinery, hydraulic systems, and automated loading mechanisms.
• Utilise advanced diagnostic software to identify and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro‑electrical faults across truck chassis and shredding control panels.
• Maintain meticulous service records, defect sheets, and inventory logs while strictly adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Provide rapid breakdown support to minimise client delays and safely return drivers to their routes.
