JOB SUMMARY:


Under direct supervision, Vacuum Melt Tech I is responsible for the maintenance, setup, and operation of vacuum melters and tube furnaces to melt and cast pure metals and alloys into plates/ingots.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


+ Set up and operate the band saw, and barrel blaster

+ Operate shears, hem plate saw, OMAX machining systems and sand blaster

+ Follow production orders and supervisor/manager instructions, weighs out and prepares materials for vacuum melting and keep records of all vacuum melting operations

+ Work with Process Engineering on developing procedures for vacuum melting new materials

+ Clean and evaluate vacuum melted parts

+ Program the hot rolling furnaces
