Description

The UXO Technician I identifies and classifies unexploded ordnance (UXO) and discarded military munitions (DMM) and their fuses as well as excavating and moving munitions determined to be acceptable for UXO Technician I must be able to perform the responsibilities of a UXO Sweep Personnel.

Expected Outcomes

  • Reconnoiter and classify UXO and DMM.
  • Identify all types of military munitions, including possible fuses and their may include bombs, guided missiles, projectiles, rockets, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnic items, military explosives, demolition materials, grenades and submunitions.
  • Excavate subsurface UXO and DMM.
  • Move and consolidate UXO and DMM that have been determined acceptable for movement within Munitions Response Site (MRS) or Munitions Response Area (MRA).
  • Transport demolition materials and UXO and DMM that have been determined safe for transport over public roads.
