Underwriter, Insured Underwriting – Residential Lending

As an Underwriter, you’ll be responsible for underwriting, processing, and approving mortgage applications. Success in this role depends on your ability to build strong relationships with our partner Mortgage Brokers while ensuring service, volume, asset quality and profitability targets are met. The role requires you to communicate in a professional and timely manner, and to maintain discretion at all times.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely mortgage solutions with a high degree of accuracy and quality during the underwriting process.
• Review mortgage applications, supporting documentation and negotiate terms with the mortgage broker while mitigating risks, making decisions with accuracy and expedience.
• Document decisions, whether the outcome is an approval or decline, and defend them soundly.
