This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Undergraduate Nursing Employee on a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Stollery Philip C. Etches Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, is a 69 funded bed unit that accepts babies from all over Northern Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, and is characterized by high acuity and high activity. The NICU will provide an opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base and a solid Nursing foundation. The UNE is an unregulated member of the inter-professional health care team who provides Patient Centered Care in the Level 2 Nursery with the supervision of an RN. The nursing activity performed, and the level of supervision required is determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by professional associations, AHS and the competency of the UNE.
