JOB SUMMARY:

Performs quality Diagnostic Ultrasound exams and procedures, fixed and portable, routine and emergent, inpatient and outpatient, for the purpose of diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of medical conditions. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathologies is required to assist physicians in preliminary interpretations of all studies performed. Performs Ultrasound examinations per department protocol and physician direction. Responsibilities for complete patient throughput include, but are not limited to, scheduling, procedures, supply inventory, general housekeeping, patient transport, documentation, and communication with family, physicians and involved ancillary staff. Participates in department Quality Improvement activities and equipment quality control plans.
