Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Radiology and the direct supervision of the Ultrasound Supervisor or Vascular Lab Supervisor, independently performs the established, invasive and diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Maintains clinical competence through periodic involvement in direct patient activities, utilizing knowledge of age-related growth and development as appropriate for the population served. Independently performs appropriate ultrasonic examinations, utilizing instrumentation settings based on a thorough knowledge of ultrasound physics. Devises independent decisions regarding length, complexity, and appropriateness of procedures necessary in obtaining a record of the anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for the interpreting physician.
