Trades I – Utilities

To perform a variety of semi‑skilled tasks related to the operation, maintenance (O&M) and construction of the water distribution, wastewater and storm collection systems. Under the general direction of a Supervisor, a Utilities Trade I shall be involved in the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and repair of these systems, working closely with crews and independently performing a variety of O&M tasks and programs, such as but not limited to: installing/repairing water mains, sanitary and storm mains, services, hydrant maintenance, uni‑directional flushing, flush/vacuum of sanitary and storm mains, services, and manholes, installation/repair of water meters as well as the repair and maintenance of the City’s pumping and PRV stations.
