Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Resident Care Manager or designate, the Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator develops and implements a variety of therapeutic recreation programs for individual patients/residents, small groups and large groups. The Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator is a participating member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for contributing to Person Directed Living.

Experience

• Minimum one year or internship experience providing therapeutic recreation in a long‑term care, palliative care or rehabilitation setting, or with seniors along the continuum of care.

Education

• Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults (RRC), or Baccalaureate degree in Recreation Studies, or equivalent.
• Food Handlers Certificate.
