Technician, Vehicle Inspection

Job Purpose

To carry out vehicle inspection on vehicles in the assigned track and to enter Vehicle Inspection final results. Ensures that functioning of all approved vehicles are in accordance with the Vehicle Inspection specifications laid down by the Police Department.

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Receives vehicle and the Inspection Receipt from customers. Ensures that details in the Inspection Receipt tallies with the vehicle registration card and plate number. Moves the vehicle for inspection in the correction position in the specified track.
• Enters vehicle plate number in the system and ensures that all details in the system tallies with the vehicle registration card.
• Commences sequence of technical inspection. Checks the exhaust emissions from the vehicle to ensure that they are in accordance with the specifications.
