Purpose:
The Technical Writer is responsible for interpreting, translating and articulating difficult technical concepts and complex subject matter into communications and training/instructional materials that are understandable and appropriate for the intended purpose and the intended audience, , technical and/or non-technical. This role is required to have the capacity and ability to learn and comprehend a broad range of business processes and technical materials (products, solutions, processes) as well as a clear understanding of what helps and what interferes with communication. Using established guidelines and/or facilitating the creation of new guidelines, the role will develop, disseminate and maintain documentation standards across all communications role will be situated within the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), Division of Students and will promote the values and strategic vision of the division.
