Technical Training & Career Growth VISTA

The Technical Training and Career Growth VISTA will build the capacity of the Center for Training and Development (CTD) and PVCE (Powell Valley Community Education) at Northwest College (NWC) to increase access to effective, relevant workforce training, certifications and professional development programs to NWC students and community workforce with new and relevant skills to secure more stable, higher‐paid employment. Program offerings will focus on meeting workforce training needs of vulnerable populations such as 1st generation college graduates, low‐income, active military and veterans who may have challenges securing living‐wage employment and long‐term economic stability. The VISTA will build sustainable systems and tools to support long‐term impact including outreach, workforce assessments, and strategies reducing barriers to employment, that NWC CTD/PVCE staff will implement.
