Professional Duties of a Teacher

• Exercise general professional duties as required by the principal or board.
• Exercise particular duties assigned by the principal or board, including teaching, planning, assessment, and support of pupils.
• Planning:
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
  • Teach pupils according to educational needs, including setting and marking work.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupils' development, progress, and attainment.
• General responsibilities:
  • Promote the progress and well‑being of individual pupils and classes.
  • Provide advice and guidance on educational, social matters, and further education, including record‑keeping.
  • Communicate and consult with parents and approved external bodies.
  • Participate in relevant meetings.
