Systems engineer: planning

To participate in CNS life cycle planning, and technical research and development efforts, focusing on the planning and design of ATNS communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) systems.

Compile technical functional specifications for CNS systems and equipment in area of expertise for procurement purposes under the guidance of a Senior Systems Engineer. Develop tender documents, acquisition and implementation documentation under the guidance of a Senior Systems Engineer. Participate in contract negotiation sessions with bidders and contractors. Participate in site acceptance and commissioning tests of new CNS systems and equipment to ensure that specified requirements are met under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
