Overview
Our 2026 Summer Student Programme offers a 3–4 month, full‑time, fixed‑term opportunity for students looking to gain meaningful, real‑world experience at Environment Canterbury. Placements are available across the organisation for tertiary students who are currently studying or have recently graduated. The programme includes a tailored onboarding experience, comprehensive welcome and induction, and a cohort of fellow summer students.
Role Summary
The Water Data Summer Student will support the compliance team by monitoring and reporting on water‑use compliance, ensuring accurate collection, management and delivery of high‑quality data. The role involves developing knowledge of the Resource Management Act, collaborating with consent planners, technical experts and officers.
