Stone conservator

Overview

We are seeking a full‑time Stone Conservator for a conservation project in Helsinki. The role involves the conservation and restoration of stone statues during the autumn and winter seasons, primarily indoors in a heated hall. The exact project duration will be confirmed after a condition assessment of the statues is completed. The employment contract will be a fixed‑term contract with Henkilöstöliiga.

Responsibilities

• Conserve and restore stone statues independently for reinstallation in their original locations or for museum display, depending on their condition.

Requirements

• Formal education in stone conservation.
• Previous professional experience in similar conservation projects, with references or documented evidence.
• Knowledge of conservation documentation practices, material analysis, and cleaning methods.
