Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Stamford, Connecticut in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports day-to-day accounting activity while helping maintain accurate financial records, complete close activities, and deliver reporting that supports business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work effectively across both routine processes and special projects.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting transactions across payables and receivables, ensuring timely processing, accurate records, and consistent follow-up on outstanding items.
• Complete monthly and annual close tasks by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, and supporting the finalization of general ledger activity.
