The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist supports students in reaching their full potential within the educational environment by addressing communication and related challenges that affect their ability to participate in school activities. Working as part of the school team, the speech-language pathologist evaluates students' articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and feeding or swallowing skills to determine how these areas impact learning and daily school routines. Based on these evaluations, the therapist develops and implements individualized intervention plans designed to help students access the curriculum, build communication skills, and engage successfully with their peers and classroom tasks.In this role, the speech-language pathologist collaborates closely with teachers, parents, administrators, and other support staff to integrate communication strategies into the classroom and across the school day.
