Join the mission at School District 8 – Kootenay Lake as an Inclusion Support Teacher. This role focuses on fostering inclusive, supportive education tailored to individual student needs.
The Inclusion Support Teacher will contribute efforts toward equity and inclusion within SD8’s diverse classrooms. You will work with teachers to employ UDL principles and support the implementation of IEPs. Your primary focus will be to assist students, particularly in K-3, in developing foundational literacy and social-emotional skills in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on Universal Design for Learning principles
• Develop Individual Education Plans collaboratively
• Support K-3 literacy strategies with teachers
• Promote social-emotional competency in students
• Engage effectively with parents and the school community
