Social Worker - Emergency Department - Regular Full-Time 2026-17744

Summary of Duties

To provide a full range of social work services to Emergency Department patients and their families. Services include psychosocial assessments, counselling, discharge planning, linkage to community resources and participating as a key member of the patient care team.

Qualifications/Skills

• Masters Degree in Social Work required
• Member in good standing of the Ontario College of SW and SSW
• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a MSW in a Hospital
• Commitment to Patient-focused care
• CPI training preferred
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Strong teambuilding skills
• Excellent assessment, interviewing and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of the health care system and community resources
• Superior ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
