Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all onboard IT systems during vessel visits, ensuring systems are operational, reliable, and well maintained.
- Conduct comprehensive IT health checks during every vessel attendance, regardless of the purpose of the visit, and resolve issues whenever possible before leaving the vessel.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues independently, minimizing the need for external support.
- Provide remote technical support via secure remote access, email, or phone guidance, and coordinate with Vessel Managers to follow up on unresolved issues requiring additional resources or spare parts.
- Manage and maintain shipboard communication systems, including satellite connectivity (VSAT/FX) and vessel email platforms such as ShipNet, ensuring seamless ship-to-shore communication up to the onshore mailbox interface.
