Overview

SHEQ Officer. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Sawmilling Production Executive.

• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure
• Strong communication skills with ability to engage across all levels
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
• Xhosa language ability advantageous
• Strong report writing and problem-solving skills
• Sound knowledge of SHEQ systems, legal compliance, and implementation

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Health: Assist with OHS Act implementation and compliance monitoring; conduct inspections, identify hazards, and report non-conformances; support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations; assist with risk assessments (HIRA) and safe work procedures; monitor PPE compliance and contractor safety; participate in Safety Committee meetings
