Senior Speech Language Therapist

Role Summary

Senior Speech‑Language Therapist (Critical Care) – fixed‑term (August 2026 to 23 July 2027). Provide leadership and clinical expertise across the ICU and acute wards at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily caseload management meetings.
• Provide advanced instrumental assessment (VFSS, FEES) and tracheostomy competencies.
• Develop and implement therapy for patients with communication difficulties.
• Participate in service development, quality projects, and evidence‑based practice.
• Co‑coach and develop other SLTs and allied health staff.
• Support 7‑day per week SLT service, including weekend shift participation.

Qualifications & Experience

• New Zealand professional qualification in Speech‑Language Therapy or NZSTA approval for overseas qualification.
• NZSTA membership.
