Senior Roading Engineer

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Roading Engineer to take a lead role in managing and delivering storm damage recovery projects across our transport network. This is a critical position responsible for restoring essential infrastructure, strengthening network resilience, and ensuring safe and reliable transport connections for our district.

This role provides high-quality technical advice to Council, including Councillors and Community Boards, and represents Council in public forums—confidently addressing complex and sensitive issues. As part of the Roading Team, the role will work closely with Council recovery staff, as well as key contractors, agencies and community stakeholders. You will lead the planning, design coordination, procurement, and delivery of storm recovery works across our local roads network. You will oversee budgets, ensure compliance, and provide technical leadership to internal teams and external stakeholders.
