Senior Protection Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Protection Settings Engineer to undertake protection studies and apply settings on new‑build and brown‑field substation projects across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, scope, design, and deliver protection settings projects for new and existing substations.
• Perform protection studies and apply settings in line with Transpower standards framework.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and client stakeholders to ensure technical deliverables meet project objectives.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project deliverables.
• Support learning and professional development within the team.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in protection settings engineering, preferably in a consulting or asset ownership environment within transmission or distribution sector.
