Senior Mechanical Engineer Bulk Materials Handling

Key Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design of bulk materials handling systems for mining and industrial projects. Design and specify conveyors (overland, underground, and plant conveyors), transfer stations, chutes, bins, silos, hoppers, stackers, reclaimers, feeders, crushers, and associated equipment. Perform equipment sizing, conveyor calculations, chute flow analysis, material handling studies, and mechanical equipment selection. Develop engineering calculations, technical specifications, datasheets, design reports, and scope of work documentation. Review and approve detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, layouts, and fabrication documentation. Ensure designs comply with relevant international and South African engineering standards and client specifications. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers and designers. Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, process, and project engineering disciplines.
