Overview

Senior Magnet Design Engineer role at UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd, a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA). The position supports the STEP fusion programme by leading the design, development and testing of HTS magnets for the STEP prototype fusion plant. Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and non-specialists to design, build and test large HTS magnets.
• Identify HTS magnet technology needs for STEP and develop plans to meet them.
• Pursue opportunities to use existing magnet test facilities and deliver new capabilities where necessary.
• Provide HTS magnet technical expertise and strategic technical leadership.
