Security Specialist

Summary The position is located in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, International Programs Directorate, Office of Regional Directors (DS/IP/RD). RD serves as the primary point of contact within the Department and for other U.S. government agencies on security programs and law enforcement activities at designated U.S. missions overseas. RD establishes priorities for all IP security programs, facilitates the planning and review of security services, and coordinates resource requests for overseas posts. Responsibilities Serves as the principal action officer on the entire spectrum of DS security responsibilities in the assigned regional area to assure that the services provided by the RD Office are current, timely, and adequately support diplomatic/consular posts. Prepares briefing papers relating to the security posture of overseas posts for use by decision-makers prior to conducting inspections of the posts.
