Travel Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Unit consists of 32 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Common diagnoses include respiratory and medical conditions. Patients are primarily adults and geriatrics. Candidates should have experience managing trachs (non-vented) and peritoneal dialysis is preferred. RNs are required to titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15 mg/hr), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion), and Amiodarone. There are monitor techs available 24/7. Charge nurses will have modified patient assignments and may also fill in the charge nurse role. Nurse aids are present on the unit with a ratio of 1 to 10 during the day and 1 to 15 at night. Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen. Shifts are from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Scheduling is managed by the director or floor manager with block scheduling allowed based on unit needs. Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend. Holiday schedul...
