Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in a critical care setting. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel in line with their scope of practice. Possesses critical care nursing knowledge and skills applicable to patients with multi-system failure requiring ventilation, neuro/trauma, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic monitoring. Provides appropriate nursing interventions in both stable and emergent patient situations. Competent in all routine nursing skills including medication administration and intravenous therapy. Capable of managing the care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains, ensuring the safe use of medical equipment in the critical care environment.
