The Respiratory Services department’s service expectations are centered in the four pillars of patient and family centered care, collaborative practice, innovation and wellness. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides leadership and expertise in the field of Respiratory Therapy and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders. The RRT will actively participate in the education of patients, students, staff, and physicians. The successful RRT will contribute to process improvement in the department and/or service areas, maintain a professional and accountable practice, advocate professionally and effectively for patients while adhering to AHS key principles of patient and family centred care.
