Job Description

We are looking for a Research Assistant or a M.Sc. thesis student to work on the newly launched research project SUSHY (Sustainable Hybrid Structures). The project seeks new material, smart‑structural, and sustainable design alternatives for the industrial fields of marine (ship and yacht design and construction) and lifting systems (hoists). The project involves intensive collaboration with industry companies and aims for high academic impact.

The overall goal of the job is to improve current micro‑test systems for fibres and fibre‑matrix systems. This requires laboratory work with materials testing electronics and coding. High‑fidelity numerical analysis is needed to understand new characterization techniques. The research must be connected and communicated within the project, with length‑scale bridging modelling tasks included. International collaboration may involve a visit to a foreign research organization.
