Relay Technician (Duke)

Essential Functions



General supervision required: Must have technical skills in the maintenance and construction of substation protective relay and SCADA control systems. Candidates will perform Relay C&M activities in accordance with Duke Energy relay construction and maintenance standards. The performance of relay maintenance activity will primarily include testing and repair of protective relays, functional testing, commissioning and repair of relay protection systems, repair and testing of SCADA control systems at Generation, Transmission and Distribution facilities.



The Relay Technician will support the planning and scheduling of crew work activities. Maintain accurate records and operate all tools and test equipment used to maintain substation protective relay systems; the ability to interface with other people to make maintenance activities work smoothly.
