Role Overview

The Diabetes Education Centre is a multidisciplinary out‑patient setting that provides assessment, education and support to individuals affected by diabetes and their families. Referrals come from physicians and other health‑care professionals. The team includes Registered Dietitians, Registered Nurses and a Registered Social Worker, offering individual consultations, group education classes and diabetes awareness presentations. The North Bay office offers full‑time services, including diabetes‑and‑pregnancy counselling, a provincially designated paediatric program and an insulin pump program.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (completed within the last twelve (12) months)
