Refrigeration Engineer

About the Role

This role requires working across the East and West postharvest sites in Hastings, managing large ammonia refrigeration systems in a safety‑critical environment. You will support system reliability, compliance and performance while collaborating with two other refrigeration engineers.

You will:

• Help run and maintain large ammonia refrigeration systems safely and efficiently
• Ensure fruit temperature and storage conditions meet best practice
• Support planned maintenance across postharvest sites
• Ensure refrigeration and electrical compliance requirements are met
• Oversee contractors to make sure work is safe and of high quality
• Identify ways to improve system performance and efficiency
• Support projects and provide technical input
• Assist with general site services such as buildings and security
