ABOUT THE POSITION

Real Property Appraiser I:

Under close supervision, to learn to make appraisals of real property for tax assessment purposes; and to do other related work as required.

Real Property Appraiser II/III:

Under general supervision, to make appraisals of residential, commercial, industrial, and rural real properties for tax assessment purposes; and to do related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Real Property Appraiser I:

This is an entry level classification in which incumbents are trained to perform, initially under close supervision, field, and office assignments in real property appraisal work. Advancement is to the Real Property Appraiser II which is the experienced level to which employees are expected to promote when they acquire the necessary qualifications as well as meeting the departmental performance standards.
