Quality/Safety Officer

Job Summary:
Functions as Quality/Safety Officer, Department of Pathology. Reporting to the Technical Director, this position oversees the development and optimization of all aspects of quality, lab audits, safety audits, process improvement, and Lean Six Sigma implementation and maintenance for the Pathology Department. The position provides leadership and guidance in the planning, tracking, and execution of quality and improvement projects across the department. In addition, responsibilities include: Generating the annual quality plan with the Medical Director/QA officer. Generating a continuous laboratory quality improvement plan with the administrator. Designing audits and tools to capture audit data. Coordinating inspection and accreditation activities. Maintain NYSDO permit information as it relates to proficiency testing, monitoring ongoing progress related to action plans, and coordinating completion of the NYSDOH Laboratory Evaluation Report.
