POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Area Manager, Materiels Management, the incumbent is involved in all aspects of procurement in a health care setting.

Overview:
Receives and reviews non-stock requisitions, checks for established standards and contractual agreements, negotiates price (for non-contracted items), negotiates delivery terms and issues purchase orders. Completes department requisitions and checks for accuracy, verifies discrepancies. Checks the specifications of requested materials in order to standardize where possible and buy materials which are the best value for the intended purpose. Prepares reviews and issues requests for quotations, ensuring that requirements and evaluation criteria are clearly identified.
