Overview

A property agent, also known as a real estate agent or property consultant, helps clients buy, sell, or rent properties.

Responsibilities

• Client interaction
• Meeting with clients to discuss their needs, advising them on market conditions, and answering their questions
• Property listings
• Gathering listings, updating them, and developing and maintaining a list of properties
• Property showings
• Accompanying clients to properties and overseeing open houses
• Negotiations
• Facilitating negotiations and transactions, and drawing up sales agreements
• Paperwork
• Handling the necessary paperwork, including preparing documentation for property closing, leasing, and other contracts
• Complete formal education and obtain a license. Some recommend taking the ABM strand in high school and earning a bachelor's degree in real estate management.
