Principal Engineer

**Position Summary**

This position manages conceptual design for specified projects. In addition, this role manages a larger group of engineers, responsible for achieving project goals and objectives. 

**Position Details**

+ May establish department objectives based on company strategic goals
+ Ensures engineering standards are maintained and followed
+ Provides design and engineering support to other departments as needed
+ Services as design expert at project team meetings
+ Prepares complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
+ Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
+ Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during construction phase
