Main Duties of the Job

You will be required to demonstrate dynamism and a highly motivated, scientific approach. You will manage a team of HCPC‑registered Clinical Scientists to deliver and develop the diagnostic workload, and to grow the workforce. The role will be based at the Manchester laboratory site. HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist in Genetics is mandatory, and in addition you should have or be working towards FRCPath part 1. If you have achieved success in the first written examination component of the FRCPath examination (Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Cytogenetics or cancer genomics) or are actively working towards this, you are eligible. State registered scientists who have not yet achieved FRCPath part 1 but who are actively working towards it will also be considered.
