Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will serve as a fully qualified Power Plant Mechanic performing a combination of shop, plant and outside work as a multiple purpose hydroelectric power project. Perform general powerhouse mechanical equipment maintenance. Duties include identification and correction of problems causing mechanical equipment malfunctions, as well as performing periodic and unscheduled maintenance/repair of equipment common to hydroelectric facilities Perform a variety of types of welding (oxygen-acetylene, shielded metal-arc, TIG, MIG), cutting (oxygen-acetylene, carbon arc), brazing, and soldering operations.
