Postdoctoral Researcher in Epistemology

We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a fixed term contract between 1.9.2026 and 31.8.2028 for the Research Council of Finland funded Academy Research Fellow project Metaphysics, Ethics, and Epistemology of Risk.

Overview

The project explores the nature of risk and its normative significance, focusing on epistemological questions such as whether knowledge can be understood in terms of risk, the compatibility of closure principles with anti‑risk conceptions of knowledge, and the connection between risk and certainty. The researcher will conduct philosophical analysis, participate in meetings, help organize academic events, and contribute to teaching and administrative tasks at the University of Helsinki.

Responsibilities
