Postdoctoral Researcher – Drosophila Reproductive Genetics

The Dorus and Pitnick labs invite applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research program focused on Drosophila reproduction and the molecular female determinants of sperm function and fertility. The position is supported by an NIH award in collaboration with Dr. Mariana Wolfner at Cornell University.

After mating, sperm participate in diverse interactions with the female reproductive tract that contribute to fertility. The molecular basis of these interactions is not well understood. The successful candidate will lead an integrative research program that aims to characterize female-derived proteins that participate in spatiotemporally regulated interactions with sperm and contribute to sperm motility, viability, and fertilization competency.
