The Phlebotomist provides skilled expertise in blood collection and specimen preparation, ensuring high-quality samples are obtained with minimal discomfort for patients across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality care by performing accurate blood draws, properly handling and processing specimens, and maintaining a calm, reassuring environment for patients.
Responsibilities
+ Perform venipuncture and other blood draw procedures using straight needles and butterfly needles while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
+ Collect blood and other specimens, such as urine or fecal samples, in accordance with established procedures and clinical protocols.
+ Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients to help them feel informed and at ease.
