JOB DESCRIPTION
CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a predoctoral researcher to work in the development of solvent free manufacturing methods for polymeric solid-state batteries. The aim of the project is to develop and validate a solventless manufacturing process for reducing the use of organic solvents, energy consumption, costs and contamination of the current Li-ion battery fabrication methods. To achieve that, this PhD thesis will be focused on manufacturing of hybrid solid-liquid electrodes which are considered the intermediate step between the current liquid electrolyte battery that contains porous electrodes and the true All Solid-State Battery.

Hybrid solid-liquid electrodes, also called gelled electrodes, are based on polymer matrices that absorb liquid electrolytes acting as the ionic conductive phase within the composite electrode.
