PhD Researcher: Ultracold Ions & Precision Mass Spectrometry

The Doctoral Researcher in Experimental Nuclear Physics at the University of Jyväskylä will join the IGISOL facility within the Accelerator Laboratory. The role focuses on laser-based cooling of short-lived radioactive ions and high-precision mass measurements to test the Standard Model.

You will develop and operate laser systems, work in an international team, and contribute to publications and conferences while pursuing a doctoral thesis over 3.5 years starting January 2027.
