PhD Researcher — Anthropology of Humanitarianism

University of Helsinki invites applications for a four-year Doctoral Researcher position in the Anthropology of Humanitarianism, starting 20 November 2026. The project explores humanitarian systems amid the withdrawal of aid, with focus on Kenya and diaspora networks in Canada.

The researcher will conduct ethnographic fieldwork, potentially in Kenya, and contribute through independent research, participation, and collaboration within the New Humanitarian Infrastructures at the End of Aid project.
