Patient Transporter (Internal Transportation)

Responsible for the safe, courteous and timely patient centered transport of patients and various forms of clinical information within the campus. Respond to directions in a courteous and professional manner. Utilizes e-DH EPIC system regarding the pick-up, delivery, completion, delays and changes of assignment. Transports patients / visitors of all ages, via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, morgue cart, to and from lobbies, clinical, ancillary, and support departments. Patient name bands must be verified prior to each transport. Functions independently. Escorts ambulatory patients. Performs surface to surface transfer of patients during the transport process as required. Transfers all patients and related items using appropriate equipment including: SLIPP Sheets, Slide Boards, Hover Mat, beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, Hoyer Lifts, and patient room ceiling lifts.
